HIRE FAQ's Frequently Asked Hire Questions

The rates for delivery and collection will vary dependent upon the distance from Altis and the destination. If you require this service, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with the cost. Please note that some destinations are free.

We ask customers to pay in advance by credit, debit card or if calling into the shop you can pay by cash. We accept all credit cards with the exception of American Express.

All equipment remains on hire until returned to Altis Tool Hire and you will be charged accordingly. If you require collection, please telephone in advance to ensure that the equipment is off-hired. The security of all equipment remains your responsibility until returned to us or collected by us. It is the customers responsibility to insure the hired equipment.

There is a charge if the equipment is lost or damaged whilst on hire. Please ensure that the equipment is secure when not in use and you take all of the appropriate measures to protect the equipment from vandalism or loss.

Yes, please bring two forms of identity prior to the start of the hire; The following are documents that we accept, original driving licence (paper format to show address) or mobile telephone bill or a utility bill showing your current address issued in the last month and a bank or credit card.

It is recommended that you reserve the equipment prior to its use to avoid disappointment. You can either phone Altis and arrange a delivery / collection date, or if you prefer call into the shop and discuss your requirements to an Altis employee. If you prefer, you can always reserve your equipment online using the hire form on this website.

Our staff can provide training in the use of the equipment, and all hire equipment comes with instructions. It is the responsibility of the hirer / customer to ensure that the operator is competent to use the equipment.

The hirer should ring Altis as soon as possible, but no later than the original end date of hire and confirm to Altis how much longer the hire equipment will be required. The hire contract will then be amended accordingly.

The hirer should return the equipment to Altis, or contact Altis and request a service call. The hirer should never attempt to repair the equipment themselves.

All weekend hires commence from late Friday evening/Saturday morning until Monday 8 a.m. Bank Holiday Mondays or Good Friday, normal weekend rates apply, the equipment should be delivered / collected late Thursday prior to Good Friday; likewise equipment must be returned by 8 a.m. Tuesday, following a Bank Holiday Monday.

This is any 4 consecutive hour period in a working day; e.g. hired at 10 am will be returned by 2 p.m.

7 consecutive days.

24 consecutive hours; e.g. equipment hired at 10 am will be returned by 10 a.m. the following day; save for weekends.

Yes, Altis require payment at the time of hire and this is normally the amount of the equivalent to the duration of the hire e.g. 2 days hire will require payment for 2 day. The cost will also include any sale or return items. Any items not used and returned to Altis will be credited at the return of hire equipment.

We fill all diesel machines with fuel and charge as per usage; unfortunately we cannot supply petrol so the machine will be filled with a minimal amount consider this when hiring).
